Everyone seemed to care
When it was celebrity
But what about the sobriety
Of the people in their own world
The ones who share common doors
Walk on the same floors
Who are too exhausted to say they can’t take much more
Where is their voice?
Do you think they feel this by choice?
Not knowing their sick

Sunshower
The devil was beating his wife
Her world was full of strife
So she fell in love with a man
Corrupted by her own hand
She dragged him down to hell
Told him he was an angel
Then the devil clipped his wings
Told him he’d live like a king
As long as he did his bidding
Lilith was quite upset
Over the betrayal of her pet
She gobbled him up in one bite
And was overrun with blight
The Devil then cast her aside
And when the tears fell from her eyes
The sun shone brightly over wet skies
The Wasted Tears
The temperature rose
Water on the horizon
Flooding, it carried us down
Through the dunes
Feeling doomed
We neared the end
So we sat down
Upon your chin
And sank into the sand
Until you swept us away
With your pruned hand
The Canary
Kurt once said,
A canary in a coal mine,
The most sensitive
Is the first to die
We fly blindly in the night
Our emotions telling us what’s right
When it’s time to fight
I’ll give myself over as a sacrifice
Dear Mr. President
A leech,
A finger on your head
Ready to be pinched
How do you go to bed?
Sucking,
Until your face turns blue
Emptying pockets
Can’t hide from the truth
While you’re carousing,
We’re browsing
We’ll out you too
Honeycomb
I swallowed my words
Loss touch with my verbs
Tears tasted of failure
I had lost my allure
I was wrong all along
Doubt,
Encroached on my home
My inner thoughts
A honeycomb
The Immigrant
Squashed
Like a bug
You held my hair
Manic feet
Nobody stared
I came here
Unprepared
The Tempest
Waves crashing on my shore
The wet sand
As it was before
The moonlight
Shone so bright
It was just another night
But something wasn’t right
I screamed out
At the top of my lungs
It was all in good fun
Until I fell to my knees
Feeling everything
I just wanted to be free
